Antioxidant Serum

This is a Vitamin C serum with Ferulic Acid, Vitamin E and Kojic Acid. I like the viscosity of the serum it is an opaque white thicker liquid that does not drip out of the eye dropper like water. Yet it is lightweight and spreads evenly, quickly absorbs and brightens your skin. It does not burn or irritate my skin. I do have to use a moisturizer after. There is a faint citrus acid smell to this but it quickly dissappears after applying it. This is a quality serum that really works to fade the brown spots and even out my skin tone. I love the results.

I have hyperpigmentation from decades of acne. It did not break me out, but i didn't see a noticeable difference in my acne marks. It was gentle and moisturizing, unfortunately it didn't do much for me.

IKI Skincare is an Asian skincare brand I've never heard of before so I had low expectations for this multi-vitamin/acid serum, but I'm pleasantly surprised. It has a silky, elegant consistency. It's almost as thick as a traditional lotion but it melts into the skin instantly. It gives me a dewy glow without a hint of oiliness so it works perfectly as a pre-foundation primer. I've been using it both day and evening (layered under my regular night cream) and my skin is super smooth and bouncy. I can't speak about any of the ingredients as the box I received had a sticker on the outside that obscured the entire list but I do know it contains the powerful combination of Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid (also found in the luxury skincare brand Skinceuticals pricey formula). I don't think there's any added artificial fragrance, but it does have an interesting smoky scent that is surprising but not unpleasant.

The glow factor of this antioxidant serum is shocking. I am frequently complimented on my dewy skin. It has definitely made a difference in my tone and the brightness of my skin. It's overall improved my complexion, evening out my tone while also nourishing it with hydration. I have sensitive skin and this did not bother my whatsoever. It's lightweight and a thin serum, easily absorbable and doesn't leave my skin sticky. It is on the pricier side for the size, but the quality and value is evident behind the price tag.

I enjoy trying new serums that are scent-free, gentle and backed by science and innovative technology and this "NIHON Antioxidant Serum" has these features. I was also drawn to it because it is inspired by Japanese rituals and I'm a fan of J-beauty products. The texture is lightweight, absorbs quickly and not greasy. There’s a faint scent if you smell it closely. I’ve been alternating this with my other daytime serum and haven’t experienced any irritation. After a few weeks of use, I’ve noticed a slight brightening effect. I removed one star due to the small size and higher price point. However, if there’s a discount available, I’d definitely consider repurchasing. Overall, I’m glad to have discovered another gentle and brightening serum.

This serum is part of a multi step skincare regime by the same company. I have the foaming cleanser and the anti-aging pm serum as well. I've had no issues with irritation from any of their products on my sensitive skin, however, this serum does make me break out a little. I've noticed that every time I've applied it, a few pimples form.I did notice a faint "hot dog water" smell that is common with ferulic acid containing products, but it disappears very quickly. Afterwards there is no noticeable scent.It feels very moisturizing. I haven't noticed any brightening effects or fading of some of my small sun damage spots, but my skintone does seem to be evening out a bit.Overall, this is a nice product but for its price, I expected better results.

UPDATE: I have been using this serum for about 6 weeks now, and strangers have been walking up to me and asking me what I am using. Seriously! This has happened to me three times this week, and I barely wear any makeup at all. I'm almost 53. Even my friend's 26 year old daughter asked me what I was doing because my skin was beautiful and glowing. I have never had strangers stopping and asking me about my skin before, and I can only attribute it to this serum. I don't wear foundation, and only powder my face lightly, and I also wear mascara and use an eyebrow pencil to fill in, but that's it. I recommend this serum, and I am absolutely going to keep using it. Even I can see the change in my skin over the last several weeks. This serum feels great, soaks in quickly, and I have strangers walking up to me asking me what I am using. Wow.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have extremely sensitive skin. It all started with a trip to Mexico in 2010. I got sick, and at the same time, all of a sudden, everything I used on my face started giving me rashes and hives. Like every single thing that I tried on my face. This continued through early 2025 when I finally visited a dermatologist.I learned that, apparently, there can be an incident that sets off the body to have a response and treat everything like it's under attack.I am 52, so I haven't been able to use anything on my face, including any anti-aging lotions or serums since I was 38. Sigh. He did recommend a product line that miraculously worked with no issues or irritation. Since then, I've gotten bold now and again and tried a new product. Most of the time, after a few days, I start to feel the itch and know that if I don't stop using it, there is going to be an issue.I was curious about this serum because the dermatologist told me that the absolute best thing for anti-aging is vitamin C. The ingredients all look to be straightforward, so I decided to try it, with fingers crossed!I've been using this serum for 5 days in the morning and night, and I have no reaction! The ingredients are clearly pure and good. I like the way this feels on my face. It has a light citrus scent, and it soaks in quickly. I have been using 4-5 pumps to completely cover my face and my neck.I like this enough to say that I will continue to use this and buy it after I finish this bottle. My skin feels so soft, and it looks smooth and beautiful. Will it minimize any wrinkles that are starting to show? I don't know, but I love the way that it soaks in and how smooth my face feels, and no allergic reaction!
